Cat's Eye Nebula

This page is dedicated to the memory of Kim Stoller, a young man who attended Hamilton Heights High School until his untimely death in 2002. During his life, Kim was an avid reader and budding rocket scientist. He loved books about astronomy and rockets and was a member of the rocket team that won 5th place in the state contest. He was kind to everyone and was often found in the library when he was not in class. This page is dedicated to remembrance of Kim.

rocket boys
the coalwood way
sky of stone
the infinite journey
The #1 New York Times best selling memoir that inspired the film October Sky, Rocket Boys is a uniquely American memoir--a powerful, luminous story of coming of age at the dawn of the 1960s, of a mother's love and a father's fears, of a group of young men who dreamed of launching rockets into outer space . . . and who made those dreams come true.
In The Coalwood Way, Homer Hickam takes us deeper into the soul of his West Virginia hometown at a moment when its unique way of life is buffeted by forces of time and change.
In Sky of Stone, Homer Hickam looks down the corridors of his past with love, humor, and forgiveness, brilliantly evoking a close-knit community where everyone knows everything about each other’s lives — except the things that matter most. The Infinite Journey represents over four decades of NASA’s efforts and achievements. This stunningly illustrated book gives you firsthand accounts of thirty space flight missions. NASA employees recount the stories behind each of the missions.
