About the Library

The Hamilton Heights High School Library Media Center serves a population of over 700 students in grades 9 through 12. The mission of the LMC is to help our students and staff to become active and effective users of information, promote a lifelong love of reading and learning, and to provide materials that support the academic goals of Hamilton Heights High School.

Many tasks go into fulfilling this mission:
  • selecting and organizing materials for research projects
  • assisting students in finding appropriate materials
  • providing multi-media materials for students and teachers
  • training students and staff in information literacy skills
  • training students and staff in the use of various technology tools
  • maintaining the library's print, electronic and multimedia collection
  • developing the library's collection to represent current and authoritative information
  • recording and archiving information about the school, its students and staff
