About the Library

home >  electronic databases

The Hamilton Heights Media Center subscribes to several databases. Each has slightly different information or ways of searching, so it is a good idea to check out several to see which you like best and which gives you the best results. Remember, the best search tool to use is the one that gives you the information you need for that particular topic. Different tools are better for different tasks. Take the time to learn which tools to use!

Inspire collection of databases
This is a very large collection of several databases including EBSCO Host and the Biography Resource Center. Think of it like a shopping mall with several "stores" to shop for information. Easily accessed from home.

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center

Newsbank magazines and newspapers
Newsbank is a large collection of full-text articles from over 2,000 newspaper and magazine sources. Special features include both a subject and keyword search. (Requires password for access away from school.)

search the library catalog
A large collection of current event articles, statistics, etc. about various countries around the world..

search the library catalog

Away from school? Pick up a copy of the user id and password required for each of the databases from the media center the next time you are in school.
