If you have a specific university in mind, it is usually helpful to search
their site directly. If you would like to compare colleges or look for
general financial aid information, the following links may be helpful.
- The
College Board http://www.collegeboard.com/ -- Sign up for the SAT,
search for colleges, apply to colleges and search for financial aid
all at one site.
- FAFSA
on the Web http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ -- Start filling out your federal
financial aid forms early as almost all colleges require these for both
federal and local financial aid.
- Fast
Web http://fastweb.monster.com/ -- Although you must sign up in
order to get a user name and password, this is a free search for college
and financial aid information.
- Power
Prep http://www.powerprep.com/ -- Although this site has information
about colleges and financial aid, its main feature is the test preparation
features. Check out the SAT tip of the day!
- Number 2 http://www.number2.com/ -- Free test preparation for the SAT and the ACT with a vocabulary builder feature.
Remember, any service that asks you to pay in order
to get information about financial aid is probably not one you want to
use. Most financial aid information is available free of charge.
